Abstract Sculpture- Oregon - Pseudotsuga menziesii
After seeing different abstract sculptures, I decided to try my hand at sculpturing, but only using my preferred medium: timber. This abstract sculpture was made from a piece of Oregon that was destined to become firewood. After cutting, shaping and sanding the piece, it was then torched with a butane gas flame to give a burnt look. I then sanded the piece once more and finished it with three coats of Danish oil.
